Created by a mum who’s been there 🤍
Feliz Wean was born out of my own breastfeeding and weaning journey with my second son.
I loved breastfeeding my children, and I was happy to continue until at least two years old — trusting they would eventually lose interest and self-wean… or so I believed.
With my first son, that’s exactly what happened.
He stopped on his own at 12 months.
With my second, it was completely different.
He loved breastfeeding. Deeply.
And we continued well beyond two years — day and night.
I was exhausted.
Working full-time, waking constantly, and slowly feeling overwhelmed.
I knew I needed to help us move into a new stage — but every attempt ended the same way:
Tears.
Tantrums.
Guilt.
And I gave in.
Over time, what once felt natural and beautiful
started to feel heavy and emotionally draining.
I felt done.
But he wasn’t.
And I felt completely stuck.
I searched everywhere for help — books, professionals, advice.
But I realised something important:
There is so much support for starting breastfeeding…
but very little for stopping.
The advice made sense —
but in real life, it was incredibly hard to apply.
So I went deeper.
I joined communities, spoke to other mums, and found so many feeling exactly the same:
Exhausted.
Overwhelmed.
Full of guilt.
It was through those conversations — hearing other mothers’ stories, learning what had worked for them, and combining that with my own trial and error — that I began to shape a different approach.
I stopped night breastfeeding when he was three, using a simple method of binding my breasts to gently remove access.
And when I later created a gentle visual approach for daytime… everything shifted.
Within about a week, he stopped completely.
No drama.
No conflict.
Just a calm transition into a new stage.

You might be wondering…
Every weaning journey is different - here are some common questions from mums like you.
Every child is different, and no method works the same for everyone.
Feliz Wean is designed to support a gentle and consistent approach, helping your toddler understand that breastfeeding is coming to an end.
Many mums find that combining the visual cue with a calm, simple story makes a big difference.
It’s completely normal for toddlers to get emotional during this transition.
Feliz Wean is not about forcing change - it’s about supporting you as you guide your child with love, consistency, and reassurance.
It can be used alongside any approach or advice you are already following, helping you gently redirect your toddler’s attention away from breastfeeding.
You can continue offering comfort in other ways - cuddles, stories, closeness, or simply being there.
It can also help to involve your partner or another caregiver, allowing them to step in and support your child while you take a step back.
Every journey is different.
Some moms find that from the very first time they use the covers, their toddler accepts the new message and breastfeeding becomes much easier to stop.
For others, it takes more time, repetition, and consistency - and that is completely normal too.
You can choose to move gradually, reducing feeds over time, or stop quickly if that feels right for you and your child.
Feliz Wean: printed nipple covers work best as a visual cue, so they are most effective during the day, bedtime routines, or naps - when your child can see and understand the message.
For weaning through the night, many moms choose to create a gentle physical barrier to reduce nighttime access to their breasts.
Some also involve another caregiver to support the process.
Applying the covers before your child sees you, and gently keeping them in place, helps maintain the idea that “boobs are sleeping.” I would advise using the covers continuously.
It may also help to avoid changing clothes in front of your child when the covers are not in place, as this can make the message less clear.
It’s also completely normal for some children to seek comfort by being close to your chest or holding your breast, even after breastfeeding stops. This can be part of the transition.
Feliz Wean nipple covers are made from soft, skin-friendly silicone designed for comfort.
If you have sensitive skin, we recommend testing them for short periods first and ensuring your skin is clean and dry before use.
If your nipples feel sore, very sensitive, or you find the silicone too sticky, you can use the soft cotton discs provided. These can be placed over the nipple before applying the cover, helping to improve comfort.
Yes - Feliz Wean is available in three different skin-tone shades: crème, nude, and dark.
These are designed to help create a natural, seamless look.
The covers also come in two sizes:
Choosing the right size helps ensure comfortable coverage of the nipple and areola.
No.
Feliz Wean is here to support you as you wean your child in the way that feels right for you and your family.
You can use it alongside your preferred approach, adapting it to your child’s needs and at your own pace.
One helpful tip: do take advantage of the smiley faces. They don’t just conceal the nipples - they can also help you create a simple, magical story for your child, which often makes the transition much easier for toddlers to understand and accept.
Not necessarily.
If the covers are not visibly dirty, you may not need to wash them after every single use.
You can simply place them back onto the protective plastic film they come with and keep them ready for the next use.
Wash them whenever you feel they need cleaning.
For best results, many moms prefer to apply the covers and keep them on for longer periods during the day, rather than removing and reapplying them constantly.
If you only want to stop certain breastfeeding sessions, you can also use them just for those specific times.
There is no perfect way to wean.
Only the way that feels right for you and your child.
You’re ready for this 🤍
You don’t have to keep feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or stuck.
You can gently guide your child into the next stage - in a way that feels right for both of you.
